To stay at the forefront, we have an ongoing 10-year plan for the research and development of the systems. The following short list outlines key milestones and products developed between 2000-2005. |
Year 2000 - Lumber Size Gauge.
The SiCam™ RealTime thickness and width gauge for sorter control and machine operator product identification features. [Completed]
Year 2000 - Feed Speed Control.
SiCam™ Feed Speed Control unifies depth-of-cut, sawing variation and other key data elements for each piece processed at the machine and passes key data to the PLC maximizing speed on the line. [Completed]
Year 2001/02/03/04 - Optimizer Integrations.
The SiCam™ RealTime System contains integration utilities to optimizers by Newnes, USNR/Perceptron and Comact. Scanner data is fed into SiCam™ RealTime where it is filtered and processed for real-time size control analysis & long-term trending. [Completed]
Year 2003 - Troubleshooting Database. The SiCam™ Troubleshooting Database System has been developed to save root causes, symptoms and solutions of miss-manufacturing events with key information to facilitate faster problem solving, root cause analysis and issue resolution. [Completed]
Year 2003 - Fence Verification Gauge.
The SiCam™ Fence Gauge matches actual board end position to the theoretical position from the fence PLC assisting with the set-up and tuning of finicky multi-stage fencing components. When the fence starts to miss-behave an alarm is sounded. [Completed ]
Year 2003/04 - Multiple Piece Profile (MPP) Scanning Technology. The MPP technology scans multiple pieces on the outfeed of gangs, edgers, planers (splitting) and single, twin and quad bandmill machine centers. The SiCam™ RealTime System supports this innovative scanning technology. [Completed]
